6. Oven

Most of the students at Australia will have access to a clean oven. Utilise it for parties! Lots of good and healthy foods can be made from oven. Search recipes online, I am sure you can find heaps of good recipes. Learn to cook with oven. It will benefit you and your friends.

5. Pizza Maker

My friend gave me a pizza maker. All I can say is, it’s awesome! I make the pizza from dough, and the experience of making a pizza from scratch is an truly amazing experience. Invite some your friends over and have a pizza weekend. Especially awesome when you just meet new friends.

4. Big Pot

Surprise to see a kitchenware in the list?  Don’t be. A big pot is very useful in many circumstances. What can you do with a big pot? Usually I will make soup, curry and pasta. Besides that, I also use the pot to marinate food for weekend. Imagine, I’ve marinated 13kg of chicken wings. I also uses the big pot to put fried noodles.

In my opinion, this is a one of the must-have appliance. However you won’t need it if your friend has one. Borrow from them for a weekend.

3. Big ass fridge

Not everyone can afford to have their own fridge, especially big ones. I live in a fully furnished apartment, and I am lucky to have one big ass fridge. I don’t have to tell you how useful is a big fridge right? Cold beers and soft drinks! Whoa, damn nice.

Besides drinks, I utilize the big fridge by cooking ahead and store it accordingly, so I do not need to cook everyday. And I put leftover food as well. But still remains its main purpose: COLD BEERS.

2. BBQ

This appliances is only for people who has balcony or outdoor space. Get one at K-mart for price around AUD$170-200. I recommend sharing it with friends. Volunteer to put it at your house and clean it every time after use.

In my opinion, BBQ is one of the easiest method of food preparation. You can search for heaps of recipes online. I encourage you to look at Youtube or Australia’s own BBQ website. There is one BBQ show at Discovery Channel, and it’s one of my favourite but I could not remember the name.

1. Deep Fryer

I own this appliances for two years, and I have to tell you – it’s the best gadgets I ever received !

“Hey I want to eat fried chicken this weekend! Party at your place, k?” I heard this so many times. Who doesn’t love fried food, right?

I fried varieties of food with my deep fryer – chicken wings, hash brown, garlic chicken balls, tofu, chips, eggs and even vegetables! Everything become tasty after deep fried! The deep fryer only costs around AUD$99 and I strongly advice you to get one. Share the cost with friends, pass it around and share. That’s how I met some new friends too :)
